Involvement

The not-for-profit German Design Museum Foundation initiates and organises educational and cultural projects on a nationwide basis. These projects are implemented in cooperation with a strong network. Companies, grant-making foundations and institutions support our field work and project work on a number of different levels. Together we can accomplish more, we can plan, finance and implement additional funding projects. Are you interested in getting involved? We make our commitment visible and support those who make donations and allocate funds through sustainable communication.

If you decide to make a donation, the foundation will use your money to promote its not-for-profit purposes or to facilitate the timely implementation of a specific project. The German Design Museum Foundation is recognised as a not-for-profit foundation. Donations are tax-deductible at a rate of 20%.

Our practical involvement with design by the processing of a very wide range of resource-friendly materials (recycling/upcycling) stands at the centre of our design workshops and accompanying subject-specific exhibitions. Take advantage of the opportunity to invite students to participate in plant tours or factory visits or to help shape exhibitions with suitable exhibits.

We can only implement our tasks and accomplish our goals if the foundation has ample capital resources This explains why donations to the foundation's capital are of paramount importance. This capital is added to the foundation capital and is maintained there; only revenues generated by the capital are used to fund projects. Like donations, all amounts of whatever size donated to the foundation capital go to the German Design Museum Foundation. You are kindly requested to indicate "Donation to the foundation capital" on the remittance form otherwise your donation will be registered as a donation to current expenditure.

Set up your own foundation under the umbrella of the German Design Museum Foundation. The benefit for you is that we will take over the trusteeship and administration. You can decide on the name of your foundation and on the assignment of individual projects, but you must ensure that the particular purpose of your foundation complies with the statutes of the German Design Museum Foundation.

In principle, we undertake to manage your trust foundation separately, ensuring revenues generated from it are used in compliance with the foundation statutes.
