The German Design Museum Foundation attaches the utmost importance to the protection of your data and we comply with the current guidelines on data privacy and data privacy act. We would like to explain how we use your data with the help of this data privacy declaration.

Data processing on this website

Personal details are only collected on this website to the extent required for technical purposes. On no account is the data collected sold by us or forwarded to third parties for any other reasons.

We collect data for the following inquiries:

  • – Registration for one our events
  • – Contact form
  • – Registration for our newsletter

The German Design Museum Foundation collects your data for the execution of the contract and for the fulfilment of its pre-contractual and contractual obligations. This data collection and the associated data processing are necessary for the implementation of these obligations and are based on Article 6 Paragraph 1 b) of the Basic Data Protection Ordinance (DS-GVO). They will not be passed on to third parties. Invoices shall be stored for the duration of the statutory storage obligations. The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the purpose of processing them.

The German Design Museum Foundation automatically collects and stores information in its server log files which your browser sends to us. This information is:

  • – Browser type/version of the operating system used
  • – Referrer URL (the previous page visited)
  • – Host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
  • – Time of your server request

This data cannot be attributed to specific persons. This data is not merged with other data sources. Furthermore, the data is deleted after a statistical analysis.

Cookies

Our Internet pages use so-called cookies in a number of places. These are used in order to improve the user-friendliness, effectiveness and reliability of our offering. Cookies are small text files which are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. Most of the cookies used by us are "session cookies". These are automatically deleted at the end of your visit.

Newsletter

If you want to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we need a valid email address from you, your name as well as information that allows us to check that you are the actual owner of the email address provided, or that the holder agrees to receive the newsletter. No other data is collected. You can withdraw your consent to the storage of the email address as well as to its use for the delivery of the newsletter at any time. The receipt of the newsletter can be cancelled at any time.  You will find a link to the Unsubscribe page at the end of every newsletter. The details you have disclosed will then be deleted.

Encrypted data transmission

This website uses a corresponding security certificate and encrypts all personal and job-related data via SSL encryption 128 bit for maximum data security and to preserve your privacy. All page visits are carried out using this encryption method. You can see this on the Internet Protocol (https)displayed in the browser, see the address bar in your browser.

Piwik web analytics

This website uses Piwik, an open-source software for conducting statistical analyses of visitor accesses. Piwik uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and allow for an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie on your use of this website is stored on the server of the provider in Germany. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and prior to being stored. You can prevent cookies being installed by correspondingly adjusting your browser software settings; in this case however, we would point out that you may not be able to utilize all the functions of this website in full.

The German Design Museum Foundation in social networks

In addition to the website we are active on Facebook. On the website you can directly access the social networks by incorporating social bookmarks. To this end we only use your data for the purpose of offering you the respective pages and do not become privy to your login data.

Right to information / objection

You have the right to object to the storage of your data at any time. In addition, you are entitled to request information on the data we have stored about you and, if the data is incorrect, to demand that it be corrected or, if the data is stored inadmissibly, that it be deleted.
